SinopsisThe Toddler English Learning System (TELS?) is a four-book series sequentially developed for pre-school students who are learning English as a second language in a Spanish-English bilingual program. The series provides activities and strategies from age 2 through Kindergarten, carefully controlling practices and skills that are developmentally appropriate for the given ages and maturity levels.The variety of approaches provide motivational activities that make learning child- centered. The series aligns the listening, speaking, reading and writing processes so that students develop, learn and understand English as a second .language as a natural process. Because the series is bilingual, teachers will have the option of using the Spanish version to provide first language (mother tongue) instruction as necessary. The transition to English is easily attained at any time the student is ready because the teacher has access to both languages in the series.Care has been taken to provide an interdisciplinary approach so that concepts in math, science and social studies are also developmentally presented.
